WHY SLEEP IS SO IMPORTANT TO YOUR HEALTH

I can't tell you how bad my sleep habits have been since having kids. I used to be able to sleep through a hurricane but now I literally can not sleep through a pin dropping after I became a mom. I literally say "I'm so tired" or "I can't wait for bed" at least once a day. As an exhausted mom of two I find it incredibly difficult to catch a good night's sleep. As soon as my head hits the pillow as tired as I am, my brain just will not shut off.

Getting a good nights sleep is a fundamental part to a healthy lifestyle. There is so much that goes on while you are sleeping such as the healing of heart and red blood vessels. It's linked to higher body weight, greater risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as depression and a weaker immune system.

There are so many things you can do to improve your sleep schedule. A few are minimizing blue light and phone use right before bed, make sure the your bedroom temperature is ok for you, go to bed with an "empty" brain and clear your head, you can try to do this by meditating.
